Welcome to the web site for the Mountain-Bay Trail, stretching 83 miles across north-central Wisconsin. Named for two geological features it connects – Rib Mountain in Marathon County and Green Bay in Brown County – the trail is built on the former Chicago and Northwestern right-of-way.
The Mountain-Bay Trail offers year-round recreation to both the casual and the outdoor enthusiasts. Bikers, hikers and snowmobilers are welcome. ATVs are NOT allowed on the trail at any time! Adjacent to the trail are the services and amenities to make your outing an enjoyable one. Please pay attention! Trail Users must note that Usage Rules and Fees vary from county to county, and are advised to consult the Trail Descriptions on this site for specific information. For example, snowmobiles are allowed to operate on the trail in Marathon and Shawano Counties, but might not be allowed in Brown County, so check with the county park department for further information.
